Attorney Steven P. 兰登
Licensed to practice in both 印第安纳州 and 肯塔基州, Steve 兰登 is an experienced elder law and trial attorney. In addition to his litigation and trial work, Steve’s practice includes wills, 信托基金, 遗嘱认证, Medicaid planning, 监护, powers of attorney, and advanced directive planning, including living wills and health care surrogate designations.
Steve, who earned his J.D. from 印第安纳州 University School of Law-印第安纳州polis in 1996, is a special kind of estate planning and elder law attorney. He is deeply compassionate and highly skilled, in part because of his firsthand personal experience grappling with nursing homes and finances when his brother Tom died young of a brain tumor. Steve was drawn to elder care planning by his own experience in trying to maneuver the tangled maze of the Medicaid system.
I feel my clients’ pain. I’ve been through it. I know it’s hard. I think about my brother every day. Sometimes people come into my office slumped over and in crisis, but by the time they leave, we’ve lifted a load off their shoulders.
Steve says his work is very rewarding because he can help families avoid some of the difficulties and costly mistakes that exist with Medicaid planning and end-of-life issues. With compassion and astute knowledge, Steve helps families preserve their assets while walking beside his clients as they transition into a new stage of life.
I do a lot of house calls. I’ve even been to people’s bedsides before they pass. That’s really hard, but it’s also rewarding.
Steve encourages young as well as older clients to be proactive in creating customized estate plans that meet their unique needs. 遗嘱, 信托基金, powers of attorney, living wills and 监护s can be modified over time as a family’s circumstances evolve and children grow.
It’s never too late and never too early to plan. You want to have things in order. No matter how old you are, be sure to get a power of attorney for your spouse and for you. When a crisis hits, you must be 准备好了.
Steve has deep roots in the community. He is a lifelong Kentuckiana resident who grew up in Clarksville, 印第安纳州, with his mother, 父亲, and three brothers. He attended Clarksville Community Schools where his 父亲 was a principal and taught for many years. He is deeply committed to his local church and family.
Out of law school, Steve initially worked as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney in Clark County, 印第安纳州. 在那里, he spent most of his days in court handling jury/bench trials, 听证会, and legal conferences. 在那里after, Steve worked as a civil litigator for Wyatt Tarrant & Combs in their 新奥尔巴尼, 印第安纳州, office and later as a civil litigator for Frost Brown Todd in their 印第安纳州 and 肯塔基州 offices.
Steve is married to the former Karen Huber, who also grew up in Clarksville, 印第安纳州. Karen is a special-needs educator. They are raising four beautiful children and currently live in Floyd County, 印第安纳州.
Church and family are important to me, and I love my work. We are very blessed.
